Fifth-Eighth Amendment

Witness- to see, hear, or know something that happened that is illegal.

Indict- having a trial in front of the grand jury.

Testify- to give your side of the story during a trial.

Grand Jury- A jury of 12 to 23 people that decide what the punishment should be for wrong doers.

Due Process- A government activity that safeguards peoples rights.

Capital Punishment-punishment by death for a crime

Excessive- doing more then necessary.

Bail- property or money given as so that a person can be released from custody.

Peer- a person of the same legal job.

Do you believe that people accused of crimes deserve all of these rights or just some of them? Why or why not?

I think that everyone deserves rights. But when someone does something like break the law like big time or something that dangers someone else's life, that's when I think that those rights should be taken away. It isn't fair for the people that there could be some person out in the world that is hurting people or are breaking the law in someway and they don't get in trouble or get there rights taken away or anything and they just keep doing what they are doing. I think that everybody deserves rights. At first. But when they do something wrong that's when they should get them taken away.
